Senior Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced full-time Systems Engineer to support our clients in the SF Bay Area, primarily in the East Bay. You will be the lead engineer and will be the technical conscience of the company. Implementing best practices and standards, implementing better processes and automating as much as possible, you must have this mindset. Your primary focus will be working on higher end IT projects, streamlining/automating IT processes and tasks, and provide escalation and mentoring support for our service desk team. You will be working on higher end projects and tasks, but you must be able to provide all levels of IT support including desktop/laptop support, server support, networking support as well as helping our team with client needs analysis, project planning, and security. Project based work would consist of building new servers (physical and virtual), server migrations, network upgrades, email migrations, application upgrades, cloud migrations, etc. You will be working hand and hand with the Management Team to research, evaluate and deploy new technologies and standards that will benefit our client base. This is primarily an in house position, occasionally you would need to go to a client site to implement a project.

As a Systems Engineer for Precision IT Consulting, your most important skill is the ability to form, maintain and strengthen client relationships through outstanding, professional and personable technical service delivery. To us your personality is as important as your technical knowledge and skills. You must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, to all levels of an organization from receptionist to CEO. Being tech savvy is great and we want those skills, but you must come with the ability to relate to real world people as well as network assets. We need you to be mature, smart, flexible and people-centric. You need to be capable of working independently among rapidly shifting priorities, and you need to know when to call in the cavalry. You must be able to handle a large volume of detailed information; sifting out what is important and needs attention now and what needs attention later. Being able to recognize, prioritize, plan and execute against this data stream is a critical skill in this job.
