Unless you are clear about what you want, your service provider may never meet your expectations. This may seem like common sense, but given the vendor relationships most companies have, they believe they do not have to give much effort into the relationship from there standpoint. This always costs the client more money short term and long term since this outlooks causes a lot of instability. Be sure to carefully think through what your immediate, short-term and long term expectations are for an outsourced managed IT service provider and you will be much happier for it. This way the IT service provider will make sure to align their service and costs accordingly.
